Mr. Conley's 3/28/17 message

Good morning parents,

With the snow finally melting, the weather is slowly changing and flowers are beginning to bloom. As we anxiously await our April 10-April 14 Spring Break, with fun plans to travel and to relax, there is still more work to be done before Spring Fever officially hits UHS!

Today’s E-news will update you on some events that are happening at UHS this month. Please be sure to keep up-to-date on all high school events by following me on Instagram: mr_conley_uhs on Twitter: @MrConleyUHS (#CatchTheSpirit & #UAreWorldClass), “Liking” The Unionville High School FaceBook page, accessing our UHS website, or reading this monthly E-News. Our goal is to provide parents with multiple means of communication about life at UHS.

*3rd Marking Period Grade Reminder: The 3rd marking period concludes on March 31st, and grades will be available to families on April 18th by 8:00 am

Welcome Mrs. Carolyn Barr to the UHS Family!

It is with great pleasure that I can share the wonderful news that Mrs. Carolyn Barr is our new Main Office Manager at UHS! While there were 60 applicants for the Main Office Manager position, and many outstanding interviews, Carolyn's responses clearly reflected someone who is an individual who will be ready to join our family from Day 1, and jump right into the fun! Carolyn has been at Chadds Ford Elementary School since 2003 serving in many capacities, most recently as the Main Office Manager since 2012. Carolyn is no stranger to UHS as her two daughters, Emily Waller (Class of 2009) and Hillary Waller (Class of 2011) are recent graduates.

Please feel free to share your kind words of congratulations with Carolyn!

MLK Canned Food Drive March 20-April 1

In the past, we have coupled our “MLK Day of Sharing” with our Canned Food Drive. This year, we moved our Canned Food Drive to the Spring. The 9th grade class and Social Studies Department will be spearheading our MLK Canned Food Drive this year. All canned goods will be delivered directly to the Kennett Food Cupboard on April 1. Last year, our MLK Canned Food Drive concluded at the Kennett Food Cupboard where we were able to provide the Food Cupboard with over 12,000 lbs of food to help feed members of our community. Please consider donating canned food items this work or plan to volunteer at UHS this Saturday (4/1) from 8:00 am-12:00 pm in the Cafeteria LGI.

Thank you, and have a wonderful Spring Break (April 10-14)!

Jimmy Conley, UHS Principal
